This book is the travel diary of Joanne Glynn, written as she journeyed the length and breadth of Africa with her husband of thirty years, Neil, in a custom-built troop carrier. The pair left their very comfortable Sydney home and semi-retirement with the deliberate plan of shaking things up a bit, seeing a lot of wildlife and revisiting places of significance to Neil’s youth. From South Africa to Namibia, Tanzania to Mozambique, a colourful parade of characters passes through their lives as they move from country to country, campsite to campsite. The result is a captivating, occasionally ironic and often bitingly funny account of their adventure and their relationship.
